About the neighbourhood
There is so much to do in this area. The wonderful town of Stratford upon Avon is full of restaurants, theatres including the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare's birthplace and many historic buildings. Cruise along the River Avon, perhaps on a restaurant boat, or ride the Shakespeare Eye for a bird's eye view of the countryside. Stratford has a famous racecourse and you are only 1 hour's drive from Cheltenham racecourse. The whole county of Warwickshire is full of places to visit and enjoy with several historic National Trust properties nearby. Golf Club and Spa available at the nearby Welcombe Hotel for day visitors. If you have your own fishing licence there is free fishing available in the River Avon from the riverbank.
Getting around
There are two parking spaces at Daisy Lodge. It is an easy drive into Stratford and there is plenty of parking there. A fun way of getting into the town of Stratford upon Avon is to take the river taxi from just over the bridge opposite the lodge. The trip takes about 15 minutes and you sail past some wonderful houses and gardens. Or there is a bus stop at the entrance to Avon Park and buses run frequently into Stratford, just a two minute ride. You can walk to the nearest village of Tiddington .8km where there are shops and a pub and restaurant.
