not far to Wescott, 10 mn walking; nice old villages around (Brokham, Betchworth, Shere),nice Hightstreet in Dorking and also Guildford; 1/2 h to Hampton

The flat has a large kitchen/dining room with lovely views across the garden (and lake, Autumn to Spring) to the North Downs. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a induction hob, electric fan oven, extractor hood, microwave, fridge with freezer box, dishwasher & electronic washer/drier. The floor is polished, old terracotta tiles with rush and jute mats.

The kitchen opens on to a verandah also with lovely garden views and is equipped with wellington and walking boot racks, ring for securing bikes and a table and six chairs with a pendant lantern.

The bed/sitting room is spacious and sunny. It is furnished with a double bed, large sofa bed, easy chair; gas fired stove in a traditional fireplace, chest of drawers, occasional tables and Freesat television with Humax storage and...

About the neighbourhood
Westcott is a pretty historic village with houses dating from the early 1400s. It nestles in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between the ancient trackways of the North Down ~ Pilgrim Way and the Greensand Way. We are blessed with good village shops and pubs, a lively well attended church, friendly mixed community and easy access to surrounding attractive towns with lovely shops, such as Guildford and Reigate. London is in easy reach by train.
Getting around
A car will give you the flexibility to visit local villages and country pubs, but it is possible to walk off-road to Dorking and throughout the Surrey Hills and we have had guests stay for weeks or visit every year without a car.

There is a local bus - look up compass-travel and surrey travel bus 32

Dorking has trains to London and Dorking Deepdene has trains to Guildford, Reading to the West and Redhill and Gatwick to the East.

How to get there
Railway: Dorking: 4.5 km
From the M25 take either:

? Junction 8, follow the A217 into Reigate and then follow directions to the A25 towards Dorking & Guildford.
Drive through Dorking High Street, up South Street and follow signs to Guildford (& Westcott). These will take
you down Vincent Lane to traffic lights, turn left into Westcott Road.

? Junction 9, follow the A243 towards the A24 and take A24 towards Dorking. There are 6 roundabouts on this stretch of the journey. Turn right at the Ashcombe Junction, just before Dorking Railway station; travel to the end of Ashcombe Road turn left at a mini roundabout. Drive to the end of this road and turn right, this will bring you to a set of traffic lights, go straight on into Westcott Road.
