Alternatively, visit the House in the Clouds; the charming seaside town of Southwold some 20 miles from Aldeburgh; take a trip to Snape Maltings that houses many musical and cultural events but also includes shops, visitors centre, tea room and restaurant.

Aldeburgh is a delightful seaside town located on the Suffolk coast between Southwold and Woodbridge. The town has a rich history and, as a former Tudor port, was granted Borough status in 1529 by Henry VIII. Sir Frances Drake's 'The Golden Hind' was built in Aldeburgh and the 16th Century moot hall and imposing Martello Tower, from the Napoleonic wars, bear testimony to its history. Today though Aldeburgh is best known as both a popular holiday destination and an artistic and literary centre - as a result of its association with Sir Benjamin Britten.
