About the neighbourhood
Freshford is a beautiful village at the southernmost tip of the Cotswold hills, about five miles southeast of Roman Bath and three miles west of Bradford-on-Avon. The excellent local pub and restaurant sits by a 16th century bridge, and Freshford also has a tiny railway station with hourly trains to Bath, which is a ten-minute journey, as well as numerous other destinations. There is a local village community shop and café. The village sits above the convergence of the Frome and Avon rivers and is largely characterised by gracious stone buildings surrounded by fields and woodland. The hills and valleys that surround the village give an endless variety of views and provide habitats for a huge diversity of wildlife and flora.
Getting around
You don't need a car to stay in the cottage. The village station is a few minutes walk away. Trains hourly off peak and thrice hourly at peak times. Bath 9 mins, Bristol 22mins. There is also a local bus service to all the adjacent villages and Bath. The cottage has two parking spaces suitable for one medium and one small car or a single large SUV.
