No 2 Monkbar Mews is a newly renovated duplex apartment tastefully furnished and decorated throughout. To the ground floor there is a open plan living/dining and kitchen area, along with a double bedroom with a super king size bed and a single bedroom with a single bed and storage facilities. On this florr is a bathroom with a shower over the bath. To the second level is a further 2 bedrooms both super king size beds and ensuite shower rooms. All the double bedrooms have wall mounted TVs. The property has a allocated parking spot for one vehicle.

Stayed at Monkbar Mews for a `friends` reunion. Excellent base only 5 mins from the Minster and walkable to all tourist facilities. Clean, modern with a view of the walls. Welcoming bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch. Right next door to a bar and round the corner from the Award winning Bombay Spice restaurant, whose Indian delicacies we sampled.

The location could not have been any better, looking out onto the walls.
Everything was very new and very clean. We had a bottle of prosecco left for us. There was milk and butter in the fridge, teabags, coffee and sugar. Also there was washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. It was great to arrive and get a cuppa straight away.
The 2 bedrooms upstairs had no wardrobes to hang anything up. There were 3 drawers in the ensuite but no one thought it was a good idea to put clothes in them.
The beds were extremely comfortable and in the centre of the rooms. Unfortunately any where else was in the eaves which were extremely low. You had to be extremely careful not to bash your head on the ceiling and window frame. It is very painful, I know this because I was not careful enough.

The rental was ideal for a couple of nights but I would not want to stay any longer.

The development looks onto the York Bar walls which is a ancient monument encircling the historic City of York, comprise 3.4km (2 miles) of surviving masonry. They are the longest town walls in England. They were built mainly in the 13th century of magnesian limestone and, uniquely in England. A walk round the walls takes about 2 hours and offers an opportunity to see the main features of the walls.The City centre is a 2 minute walk from the development where local restuarants bars and shops can be found.
