A 17th Century traditional Lakeland cottage, which retains most of its original features, including oak staircase, wooden beams and oak paneling. With 2 king rooms ( 1 en suite), 2 twin rooms (1 en suite), double en suite, and a downstairs shower room. A large fully equipped kitchen diner where there is plenty of space for everyone. The lounge has original beamed ceiling and oak paneling, and with the log burner is the perfect place to relax in an evening. Large utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

We live in the converted barn next door, so will be around if needed. Otherwise, we will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. Don't worry about making too much noise or disturbing us, you won't, we just don't hear anything, and we don't disturb our guests either, it is a great set up.

Location is excellent with great views and only 5 mins from Bowness. The house has everything you could need for a large group or family. We loved the big kitchen. Property is great for taking a dog, first time we had done this. Thanks HelenMore

About the neighbourhood
We are located just 5 minutes Drive from Lake Windermere and the villages of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere.
Located in the southern half of the Lake District we are an ideal base for exploring the Lakes and the Mountains in the whole of the Lakes area.
The house is situated on the out skirts of Windermere and surrounded by farm land (it was once part of a working farm), with lots of walks right on the door step.
The villages of Ings and Staveley, as well as Bowness and Windermere are within easy walking distance, and are great for children and pets, with many pubs being friendly to both and some having their own micro brewery for those who like real ales.

Getting around
As the property is set within the countryside, there are no bus stops, or train stations close by. Both are within a 45minute walk through open countryside, and by far the easiest way to get around is by car. For guests who wish to visit us without a car, local taxi companies can be used to travel between Windermere train and bus station. And of course, you can always do a home delivery shop to make things easier. We are happy to take delivery of this if you are running late, just let us know in advance.
