Just a stones throw from the River Kent and plenty of green space to enjoy, including Kendal Castle, and only a minutes walk from Kendal train station with a two minute walk into the town centre with shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Ideally located to enjoy the bustling market town of Kendal! The Old Shop is full of charm and character, special attention had been paid to equip it with all the things necessary to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

This lady is so helpfull and responds to messages asap .had to cancel our holiday with her through health reason and she helped to get us a refund

It was an excellent little cottage. The only thing was that the wi fi signal often crashed but other then that no problem whatsoever ! Walkable distance to all the local town center.

A popular route from Kendal - Jump on the train to Windermere, via Staveley - a very cool village with fabulous traditional pub The Eagle and Child and the very popular Hawkshead Brewery & Wilfs Cafe. Staveley is also popular for road and mountain bikers who like to browse bike shop Wheelbase. Once in Windermere you are surrounded by cool cafes & restaurants, the Famous Lakeland outlet and lots of art & gift shops. A short walk down to Bowness, cafe culture meets lakeside cruising here. You can get a bus and boat ticket to take you to all the hot spots up and down the lake stopping at Wray Castle, Brockhole & Ambleside, at the top of the Lake. Row boats, steam boats and cruisers allow you to explore the 12 miles of Lake Windermere with ease
Getting around
The Old Shop, Kendal is ideally situated to explore the beautiful Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales.

There are good rail links to Windermere from Kendal and Oxenholme train stations. Kendal station is a minutes walk from the property. The bus station in Kendal, also just a few minutes walk from the property, allows access to the Lakes and beyond. We are just 6 miles from junction 36 of the M6 motorway.

Railway: Kendal, Cumbria: 0.1 km
Parking: The Old Shop, Kendal does not have allocated parking. However, due to its town centre location parking is not an issue. There are two small pay and display car parks approx 100 yards from the house, with parking available at £5 for 24 hours.The first of these is at Kendal Museum, just opposite Kendal train station. Address: Station Road, Kendal, LA9 6BT.
The second is just off Wildman Street. Address: Beezon Road, Kendal, LA9 6FS. Travel along Wildman Street and take a right just past the The Old Shop. Then take an immediate right again to access the small pay and display car park. Additionally there are free parking spaces to be found in Kendal, close to the property.
