Nice cottage with comfy settee and bed, with good sized kitchen for just 1 couple staying, and plenty of space. The shower room is quite large. may need to adjust radiator temperature on the boiler to heat the radiators to adequately heat the cottage. Dishwasher joint needs sorting to enable its' use, but this was just a very minor problem....

We enjoyed our stay at Grizedale cottage it was brilliantly located close to Hawkshead and Ambleside. It is a five minute walk to the fantastic Outgate Inn which offers a cosy atmosphere and great food. In addition it is a mile from the Drunken Duck which again is a fantastic pub. The cottage itself has good parking and has lovely...

About the neighbourhood
Ambleside, one of the pearls of the Lake District, is set in the centre of the region at the head of Lake Windermere. This lively market town provides everything a visitor could want – from the many shops offering wares for walkers and climbers to the many eating and drinking establishments.

The town is rich in history and heritage. Originally containing a Roman fort Ambleside has always been an important area of the Lake District. Buildings such as the 17th-century Bridge House, one of the smallest houses in Britain, and the Ambleside Museum (home to many Beatrix Potter artefacts) offer visitors an insight into local life in bygone days.
