The property consists of a lounge with comfy leather sofas, fabulous new Inglenook fireplace and log burner, dining room with seating for six guests plus a highchair, a very well equipped modern kitchen with plenty of storage, downstairs WC, three double bedrooms (a king size bed in bedroom one, a super-king size zip and link bed which can also separate into two single beds in bedroom 2, and a double bed in bedroom 3 with an en-suite shower room) principal/family bathroom with new, luxurious roll top Victorian style bath, separate shower cubicle and delightful views out to the mountains. Outside there is a small back yard and then a few steps across the road there is a large double garage - ideal for canoes, bikes, cars - lots of space for all your outdoor gear! The garage leads out to a patio and seating area in the garden with delightful views up to Coniston Old Man. Please note that the stairs in the property are fairly steep so we have listed the property as only for the agile. If you are there for a walking holiday it will be ideal, but if you are disabled or frail it may not be entirely suitable. Situated in the very heart of the Lake District, you simply do not need to venture outside of Coniston to have a truly delightful and memorable holiday. However, other parts of the Lakes are within very easy reach - Ambleside, Hawkshead, The Langdales - they are all within a short, breath-taking drive. More

About the neighbourhood
Within walking distance of Puddleduck House is Coniston Water and from there you can take a delightful sail up and down the lake, meandering around the inspiration for Arthur Ransome's famous book and film, Swallows and Amazons. You can also learn about Donald Cambell, the British speed record breaker who tragically died on the jet-powered boat, The Bluebird, while travelling at a speed of 300mph. A cafe, named after the famous boat, is situated at Coniston Launch and has a wide, glass front with panoramic views of the lake. And the food and cakes are very tasty too! If you fancy a low-level walk, there are walks that are incorporated with your boat trip on the water - you can choose to get off at various jetties including stopping off at the home 'Brantwood' of the eminent Victorian ...
Getting around
The great thing about being in Coniston is that you have everything at your fingertips - you can choose to park up and leave the car here for a week! There are simply so many things to do in Coniston, so many walks right from the door - you needn't explore further if you don't want to. If you do decide you want to visit other villages but still don't want to take the car - why not use the fantastic bus system? The bus stops right at the end of our road and provides links to Hawkshead, Windermere and Ambleside. From there, you can pick up buses to Keswick, Grasmere and lots of other places in the Lake District.
