The Farmhouse is a characterful, white washed 17th century farmhouse set in a secluded 1.2 acres of woodland with private lake access (shared with two other cottages) leading to the beautiful waters of lake Coniston.

Situated in an enviable spot, the cottage is an ideal place for couples, families or small groups, to come and unwind in the peaceful surroundings and explore the Lakes by foot, bike or boat.

The Farmhouse has been re-furbished to a high standard with a new kitchen, carpets, family bathroom with roll top bath, shower room and thermostatically controlled central heating. The period feel has been sympathetically maintained with exposed beams in all rooms, cast iron wood burning stove in an original fire place setting, antique furniture and even a 300 year old bread oven!

The Lake District National Park is England's largest National park, home to Scafell Pike, it's highest mountain, deep cut, glacial lakes, awe inspiring landscapes and picture postcard villages. Not to mention, great traditional pubs, historic houses and castles, lush, green valleys, fells and forests all within an area of 885 square miles. With many areas easily accessible by road, Coniston offers a superb base for touring and experiencing all that The Lake District has to offer.

FROM THE NORTH:

Leave the M6 at Junction 40 taking the A66 Keswick road.
Follow either the A592 Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass road or the B5322 and A591 Thirlmere and Grasmere route to Ambleside.
Take the A593 to Coniston and Torver.
Turn left at Torver on to the A5084.
Follow road for few miles / 5mins with lake on left hand side.
Pass over a cattle grid and immediately to your left, you will see a turning in to a car park (Lake District National car park: Brown Howe).
The road swings round to left and immediately left, you will see a turning.
Turn in and up the drive way.
The Farm house is the middle of three cottages.
Please park in private car park behind bin area once you have un-packed.
