High Grove is a magnificently spacious 3 storey cottage, situated at the end of the stone barn. There are fanstastic views to Kirkstone Pass, Red Screes and the Langdale Valley. The property has undergone a sympathetic conversion leaving the majority of stone walls and original timbers on show. The front door leads into the flag floored cloakroom with steps up to the inner hall, off which are one double and one twin-bedded room, both with lots of character and pine furniture. A shared bathroom (adjoined to both bedrooms) completes the picture downstairs. The kitchen, dining and living spaces all occupy the stunning open-plan first floor. We have had another lovely break in these cottages. We usually book Little Grove but had High Grove this time. It is larger but still as warm and comfortable for just 2, well equipped and with fantastic views across the valley to The Struggle and Red Screes. a delightful small farm barn complex, about a mile outside Ambleside up a narrow metalled road, which is a bit of a haul to walk for shopping / pub purposes. This was my second visit to Grove cottages. This time we stayed in the high grove cottage. The cottage was spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. The location of Grove cottage is perfect.
