The Osbourne Club

Condo/Apartment -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Torquay, English Riviera, Devon, England
Hesketh Crescent stands completely on its own in 5.5 acres of well maintained gardens in a tranquil position, with wonderful views overlooking the sea. The apartment is situated in a quiet area of Torquay overlooking Torbay but close to the bustling harbour and town centre. At the bottom of the garden there is access to the beautiful Meadfoot Beach as well as the South-West Coastal Path. There is a daytime bus from outside the main gates which will take you to the harbour and there is a good variety of local shops and plenty of cafe/restaurants nearby. There are a choice of restaurants onsite: Langtry's is open for breakfast and dinner; the Brasserie [closed in winter] is for more relaxed meals, snacks or just a drink. In the summer guests can enjoy drinks on the terrace overlooking the sea. This is a sunny, spacious 2 bedroom apartme... Read more

We booked a last minute 2/3 bed apartment which was very clean and tidy but just lacked that extra bit of class that a feature fire place would add to such a fine period property. The kitchen was well equipped with dish washer , microwave...More

We stayed here using an exchange with RCI. We had a second floor, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment overlooking the sea. The view was lovely and you should definitely try to get the sea view (we were in House 1, apartment 8). The master bedroom...More

This is a charming English-style condominium in the heart of Torquay, where there are plenty of things to see and do. The fixtures and decor are quaint and unique--if you prefer modernity, it may not satisfy you. The elevator is as tiny as can be--only...More

About the neighbourhood
For families looking for things to do, Torquay is a hive of activity throughout the year. There are loads of beaches to choose from, Kents Cavern to explore and the brilliant Living Coasts coastal zoo to visit, where you can walk with penguins. There are also plenty of sightseeing excursions, and boat and fishing trips out into the bay. You'll also find that it's the HQ for a host of maritime events and regattas – but don't worry if you don't own a boat; there's plenty of spectator points around the coast and each event brings its own festivals and celebrations. Paignton is most famous for its wonderful zoo, whilst Babbacombe plays host to a world in miniature in the form of its acclaimed Model Village. In Brixham, you can find a replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship... more

How to get there
From Exeter at the end of the M5, follow signs to Torbay taking the A38 and A380 past Newton Abbot. Entering the outskirts of Torquay the dual carriageway passes the Willows shopping centre [Sainsbury's & Marks & Spencer] if you wish to buy groceries en-route.
Continue through 5 sets of traffic lights, then get in the right hand lane. At the next set of traffic lights [by Halfords store on your right], take the right hand turn to the Seafront. If you miss this turning and keep going straight on, follow signs to SEAFRONT and HARBOUR, not Town Centre.
Go down to the Seafront and turn left [If travelling from Totnes or Paignton you join up at this point]. Continue on the Seafront road to the Harbour, passing the Princess Theatre on your right and then Hoopers & Debenhams on...
