Interaction with guests
Keys for access to Laurel Cottage are held in a key safe by the front door. The code to access this key safe are supplied before your arrival, so you need not worry if you arrive late in the evening or if there is no-one to welcome you. Most of the time I am in The Laurels which is adjacent to Laurel Cottage, so please ring the bell if you have any difficulties or would like some guidance on local attractions etc., but your privacy is respected and sometimes I do not see our guests at all!

About the neighbourhood
Laurel Cottage enjoys the privacy and tranquillity of a good residential area, which benefits from the character and presence of England’s Victorian era at a time when Torquay provided accommodation to wealthy and prominent figures. Trees, the sea and surrounding countryside with National Parks give clean air, the tranquillity only broken by bird song. Torquay’s picturesque harbour offers a backdrop for a variety of local restaurants that cater to all tastes, occasions and budgets. Likewise local amenities offer sand beaches, coastal walks, Stone Age caves, Theatres, kids entertainment, golf, historic interest and water sports that serve all interests and needs.
Getting around
Most of our visitors come by car but there are many options for travel to notable destinations that are preferable to driving and we have excellent bus services nearby on Babbacombe Road. Torquay harbour, town and Torre Abbey Sands are within walking distance, as is Torre Abbey. A ferry regularly runs between Torquay harbour and Brixham, a picturesque fishing port. Greenway, the home of Agatha Christie can be accessed by steam train and a free shuttle bus. Coastal boat services are available from Torquay harbour, all within easy walking distance. Brochures to help you see what is available and how to get there are available in Laurel Cottage.
