Barn
Converted barn, on a working family farm. Cobble Court would originally been for the working farm horses. Named, Cobble Court, as the cobbles which were the original floor of the building are all now relaid outside of the cottages.
This property has one large double bedroom, with a king size bed and room for a cot if required.
The second bedroom is upstairs and has one single bed plus stow-away second single which can be utilised to cater for two children.
The open plan living area has a well equipped modern kitchen, tiled top extending dining table, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dish washer and washing machine. A large comfortable sofa and arm chair for a relaxing evening.
The shower room is on the ground floor.
Cobble Court has a VisitBritain 4* grade for accommodation.

Lovely little stone barn conversion cottage feel, on a working farm delighted to find they accommodated a 10 night booking too - highly appreciated in high season.
Lovely little welcome pack meant we could have a tea and coffee with biscuits on arrival - cottage has all the mod cons, really useful for a family.
Cobble Court slightly snug for family of 4 and 1 dog - 2 teens in the one room upstairs was a squeeze in truth and the beds are possibly better suited to under 10yr olds ( daughter couldn't lay out on one bed and kicked drawers in the 2nd bed.)
Higher Hendra v well placed for exploring Devon/N Cornwall border all the way down to Newquay and within an hour the South Coast. Fab coves all around and a handy welcome book with lots of tips.
Drawback were the enclosed garden isn't dog proof, small wall means our lab could jump it if wanted and all the properties are adjacent or terraced if you do want total privacy to sit out, this isn't the property.
Prices shown in Dec 2022 didn't reflect those we were charged for 2023 so this was a 400 pound uplift on what we searched on originally...
It is a working farm and converted stone barn so expect flies, insects and spiders in Aug!

Hi Suzanne,
Thankyou for taking the time to write us a review. Lovely to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay. Found the cottage to be well equipped, great information available and in a good location for exploring Cornwall.
You should have come and knocked the door, we would have been more than happy to put something along the wall if you found your dog was jumping over, for some peace and mind!
Regarding the pricing as we discussed at the time, it was incorrect pricing shown by Trip Advisor, showing at under £1,000 for a 10 night stay in August, for a family of 4, plus a dog. Which I did say you must have thought was very cheap and did give you the option to cancel and have a full refund. In the end the booking worked out £115 per night, plus the fee that Trip Advisor put on top, so apologies if you feel that was expensive.
We feel that the pictures and description show and explain the set up single bedroom upstairs with a pull out truckle, I will take another look and see if I can adjust the pictures to make more clear.
Thankyou again for your feedback - All at Higher Hendra :-)

Perfect accommodation
A great place to stay and plenty to do nearby. We loved the accommodation, it was ideal for 3 adults and two dogs, but very homely too, would definitely book again, maybe in one of the larger barn conversions so we could take the rest of the family next time 😁

Superb accommodation
The cottage is beautifully situated on a working farm - close to Port Isaac where Doc
Martin was filmed. It was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing self catering holiday. The scenery around the coast is beautiful and there are lots of walking trails. Our Host and Hostess were very friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this little gem.

Outstanding cottage
We had a fantastic stay at Cobble Court for Christmas. The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and tidy. Heating is superb with underfloor heating for the bathroom and entrance. Beds comfy. WiFi is available and is very fast. The owners we're very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Very convenient location for visiting Port Isaac and Polzeath. Can highly recommend the local pub The Cornish Arms, excellent food and local brews.

Authentic Cornwall Gem
This working farm in Cornwall is nearby historic Port Isaac, the home of Doc Martin's fictional PortWenn. In addition to scenic Port Isaac there are numerous walking trails nearby to enjoy the stunning views of seaside Cornwall. The farm house on the property was built in 1717, and the rental cottages are converted out buildings that have been fitted with modern amenities to make your stay as comfortable as can be. The owners, and their family members, went out of their way to assist me with some minor problems I had during the stay, that were unrelated to the property, but totally related to my difficultly in navigating and negotiating the narrow roads in Cornwall. Each rental cottage have enclosed yards, so they are pet friendly, and there is on site parking available. No smoking is allowed inside the rentals, but they all have comfortable courtyards where you can smoke outside, as long as you are respectful of the other guests. On the adjacent fields you can view the sheep and cattle peacefully grazing the fields, and a walk on the Coast Trail is available practically right outside your door. I could not have been happier with my choice of lodging in Cornwall, and I don't believe better hosts can be found anywhere. Glancing through the guest book, I could see that previous guests, from around the globe, enjoyed their stay as much as I did.

relaxing cottage
What a lovely cottage: spacious, very clean, quiet, well equipped kitchen to cook for a family.... we could not have asked for more. Nice surprise was the Victoria sponge cake on arrival. After two days my children asked if we could come here again. Certainly one of the best places we have stayed so far. Good location to explore coast path, beaches and other sites round Cornwall. Our girls loved their little cosy bedroom and obviously the cat Tiny and dog Stella.

Perfect getaway
Cobble Court at Higher Hendra farm had everything you wanted for a quiet break but that was central for visiting places like Tintagel, Port Isaac etc.
It was clean and comfortable with lovely crisp bedding and big white bath towels. Angela's thoughtfulness with supplying a box with dog towel, bowls and even dog shampoo was unexpected. We took both our dogs and they were made to feel as welcome as we were.
If we were to suggest anything it would be to provide more information on local attractions, places to eat, takeaways etc. We'd printed off walks to do in the area before we left home so left them at the cottage for future guests.
Having said that, Angela and Phil were lovely hosts, very friendly and happy to stop for a chat.
We will definately go back and would highly recommend it to anyone - especially if they have dogs!
