Tiny Nest House 7 km to Inverness or walk to secluded sandy beach with waterfall

Chalet -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Inverness, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
We just finished and installed our second tiny house designed by our daughter, a professional architect. The Tiny Nest is 24 feet long and 8.5 feet wide and is situated on a beautiful apple tree orchard with a private sandy beach, only 35 km from Port Hood , 21 km from Mabou and 6.5 km from Inverness.
Other than the off grid solar powered „Tiny Heaven“ roughly 90m distant up hill this new tiny house offers comfortable on grid power and a hot water tank. For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made a full 24 hours prior to local check in time 5:00 PM.

We had an incredible time at this spot. Monika and Robert were excellent hosts and their tiny home concept is definitely on point. We stayed at Tiny Heaven but also took a good look at Tiny Nest. Both are very comfortable and surprisingly spacious in...More

Thanks Chris and Olivia! We would be more than happy to spend more time with you guys next year. Check our new spot on Lake Ainslie as well, you find the "Tiny Loon" here listed as well.

The house is tiny obviously, but cute and cozy. Very clean. Toilets are compost toilets. Located on a pretty former orchard. Some neighbors are close. Usually quite, but can be occasionally more busy. No view of the sea from the house. Very beautiful beach 10...More

Thanks Sylvie for being our guest. There are very few weekend cottages further down owned by relatives seeking secluded privacy and quietness. If you walk up the hill behind the tiny house less than a minute , you reach a plateau with panoramic view and...More

About the neighbourhood
The little fishing harbor of Inverness is only 15 minutes drive away, where you find the largest sandy beach on Cape Breton Island, many boardwalks and trails. The golf course “Cabot Links“ is one of the top ten in the world, and attracts visitors to the restaurants and cafes of the old mining village. The recently completed Trans Canada Trail connecting the Canadian East and West Coasts is close by, continuing to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and it attracts hikers from all over the world. The locals and tourists live together in this changing village. Inverness benefits from golf having more money available to support the hospital and other facilities. The hospital is the biggest building in town, aside from the old Church with
Getting around
Enjoy the Island hiking breathtaking trails starting behind the house or by car, beginning with the nearby Cabot Trail. Light in Nova Scotia is much stronger than elsewhere, colors are more brilliant and the fog is sometimes the thickest we have ever seen. Lay back and let Nova Scotia enchant you. The coastline is deeply indented by fiords and numerous bays. Cape Breton Island in the north east has a huge lake (Bras d’Or Lake) with crystal clear water and terrific fishing possibilities. People here are still very tight to their traditions: there is always an occasion to play Scottish bagpipes and Irish fiddle music. If you meet French Acadian inhabitants, although english speaking, they enjoy being greeted with a „bon jour“.

How to get there
Airport: Halifax International Airport: 300.0 km
After you turn to Broad Cove Banks Road just entering Inverness from South at the yellow building you drive about 7 Min or 5.7 kilometers to „Sight Point“, pass civic #1084 and and after 200 m from there you see a blue TiNYhouse sign. Park your car there and walk down 100 meters to the Tiny House old drive down that lane if you got an SUV.
We do not recommend driving up the apple orchard by car,
especially at rainy weather (slip hazard).

Nearest Beach: 0.7 km.
