Great cottage, peaceful location. Short walk to the Castle pub where they served excellent food. Very friendly hosts.

We just loved our week here and really didn't want to come home. No 4 is ideal for a couple and is also pet friendly. The lovely Sharon came over to make sure we were settled in and to answer any questions. We always take...More

About the neighbourhood
Bodiam is a small village boasting a magnificent castle with moat and grounds. There are many events held here throughout the year.

The River Rother runs through the village and in peak season a ferry operates from Bodiam Castle to Northiam. The castle is run by the National Trust and has a tea room and giftshop. The Castle Inn offers a warm welcome and serves a wide range of excellent food.

The Bodiam terminus of the Kent & East Sussex heritage railway is in walking distance of the cottage and hosts many events incuding The Hop Pickers Weekend. Visitors can also go from Bodiam to Tenterden by steam train. Tenterden is a charming old market town and offers a wide range of shops.

Bodiam is a very rural setting. The nearest train stations are 10 minutes away at either Etchingham or Robertsbridge. From either of these stations you can get a train to London and both have good parking.
The local steam train is within walking distance and trains go to Tenterden. The timetable varies on the time of year.
