This is a 1947 cottage we purchased from owners who were artists, now named The Painter's Nook because of the collection of colorful art and artifacts. The cottage is a lovely one-of-a-kind escape in the heart of Parksville that feels like you've journeyed back to a delightful time where charm and individuality made a house a home!

Now updated with two new bathrooms, the Nook offers a fabulous flow from living room, through the kitchen and into the eating area looking out into a large green welcoming backyard, filled with trees, a swing set, BBQ area. The Painter’s Nook is a special place and you feel welcome as soon as you drive into the driveway, Everything you need is there for your convenience. Owner has a book full of all the information you need on the House, the garbage schedule, and of Parksville itself. Beautifully landscaped. Not one thing missing in making us feel at home...

We spend more than a week with our family of 4 in Painter's Nook and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The house was in excellent condition, clean and fully equipped. Doing the dishes ourselves brought quality time for the family. The nearby shops provided very high quality food, meat and shellfish. We did hiking in close by parks but...

About the neighbourhood
The central location of the home means that you don't need to rely on your car while you're in town. Our favorite things about this home's location is that it's just around the corner from Starbucks and two blocks away from two grocer stores, a great book store, etc. Not to mention that it's such an easy walk into the heart of Parksville, down to the beach and the Englishman River Estuary, or to the Community Park and all that Parksville's expansive beach has to offer. Walk to Parksville's Summer Night Market, the Sandcastle Competition and so much more!

The property itself is almost a 1/2 acre, with a large back yard that features many fruit trees, raspberries and blackberries in the summer.
