About the neighbourhood
The Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, England's most southerly point is a secret back water - almost an island, girded on three sides by the sea and the fourth by the meandering waters of the Helford river, only a tiny land bridge connecting us to the rest of Cornwall. Whatever your taste or choice for relaxation we have everything for you to explore from golden beaches to pebbly coves, dramatic cliff tops to still rivers and creeks full of bird life. Freshwater lakes, open heathland, fabulously hued Serpentine rock outcrops and gardens full of sub-tropical plants warmed by the Gulf Stream. We are only a few miles from the most southerly point at The Lizard. Ruan Major is a small hamlet, and quiet even in the peak season, yet we are just a few minutes one of the finest beaches in Cornwall, Ky... more
