It is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists, with woodland paths and riverside walks starting from the cottage door. While the cottage is secluded and tranquil, it is only a fifteen minute drive to Dundee, the closest centre for major shopping and home to the V&A museum. However, Gauldry, just 2 miles away, has a small shop and post office, and Newport, about 5 miles away, has a larger retail selection. The historical town of St Andrews, renowned for its golf courses and beaches, is around a 20 minute drive away. The property is strictly no smoking. Arrival is from 4pm onwards and departure by 10am, to allow sufficient time for cleaning between guests. A welcome pack is also provided. Reviews: you will notice that some of the reviews refer to 'Little Haven'. We changed the name to The Haven, but it is the same cottage.More

About the neighbourhood
There are numerous walks and paths to cycle amid beautiful scenery and the ruins of Balmerino Abbey, built in 1229 by Cistercian monks for Queen Ermengarde are nearby. St Andrews, ‘The Home of Golf’ has no fewer than seven courses to play and its West Sands beach also has a claim to fame, being the location for the award winning film ‘Chariots of Fire’. Many visitors will enjoy exploring the picturesque and quaint fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife which are host to a variety of festivals during the summer months. There are numerous excellent places to eat in the area, including Master Chef Winner Jamie Scott's Newport Restaurant in Newport on Tay and of course the V&A Museum to visit in Dundee.
Getting around
As this is a secluded, rural location, to fully explore the area, a car is essential, as public transport options are limited.
