A little bit of history: It is in this location that Samuel de Champlain constructed the first habitation in Quebec; a farm and a shed. The location was named after Louis XIV and is one of the last remaining relics of 17th & 18th century buildings in North America. It is from this location that the beginnings of New France began to develop some 400 years ago. Restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, and museums are located only minutes from this location. Step outside this condo and within minutes you will realize why Old Quebec has been designated a U.N.E.S.C.O. World Heritage Site. In 2002, Hollywood went looking for a site location for the European scenes in the 'Catch Me If You Can' movie starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. If you have seen the movie, or if you plan to watch it, you will see Quebec City during the scenes where Hanks chases DiCaprio through the streets of France. The turning point when Hanks captures DiCaprio is supposed to be in Paris, France, but it is actually shot about one minute away from this condo!
