A modern conversion of an 1880's-era hotel, The Oriental, in 2012 created this beautiful loft apartment. While certainly compact, this 500 sq ft little dynamo boasts everything you could want: 2 comfy beds (one queen/loft; the other full/memory foam La-Z-boy sofa bed), full kitchen, full bath, washer-dryer... Everything the average hotel doesn't!

Please note that while perfect & cozy for sleeping, the loft is only 5' in height and the stairs up to it are not traditional (while better than the original ladder, they are not uniform in height or depth...). We suggest that anyone with mobility issues please take this into consideration before booking.

Was great downtown location, lots of restaurants, shopping and close to water. No instructions when my sister and I arrived. No parking as it was Saturday and there is only metered short term parking in front of building. We had no idea what to do, so arrival got us off to bad start. Place is very small, loft steps steep...

My family really enjoyed the location of the loft and the look of the building. We were very tired, especially me, when we got to the location and upset that the code to the front door had been changed. I did not bother to look at emails after I left New Zealand due to everything being sorted before I left,...

Loved the location! Apartment has tons of character and supplied everything we needed for our short stay. will need to come back and stay longer next time. The host was very accommodating and we had no issues finding the place or accessing it. Thank you!

Victoria's inner harbour is the most vibrant area on the island - and here, at our place, you're two short, strollable blocks away. Enjoy the best food & wine available - each with a different view of one of the prettiest marinas in Canada. Love politics? Take a 10 minute stroll to our province's Parliament Building. If culture is your game, the Royal BC Museum is also down the street. Paddle or peddle to the bustling outdoor markets or alternately, jump on a speedy Zodiac and seek out a pod of Orcas... It's all within blocks of this fantastic apartment. With Harbour Air and the Greyhound Bus terminals all within blocks, you may find it's just best to leave the stress of a car behind, and heck, if you've done that, why not fill your water bottle with a delicious... more

If you're traveling to the island on a ferry, we highly recommend hopping on either a double-decker City of Victoria public bus or a Pacific Coach Line (PCL) charter bus from the BC Ferry terminal in Swartz Bay to take you to your Victoria harbour home. The city bus offers either an express bus that will take you about 35 minutes or one that makes all the local, regular stops but takes a little longer. Both will give you a fantastic taste of the main highway and it's pocket neighbourhoods along the way. The slightly more costly PCL bus is more direct & speedy but not necessarily a better experience if time is not an issue. The city buses are very clean and well-maintained though the PCL coach has much more room should you have large bags to consider.
