About the neighbourhood
Borniskitaig is a small crofting community on the north west of the Trotternish Peninsula. It is perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday but is also well placed to explore the rest of Skye. Nearby is the ruined castle of Duntulm and on the beach below are the recently discovered footprints of a dinosaur, some 170 million years old! Within site of the cottage is the Skye Museum of Island Life and a short walk takes you to the grave of Flora MacDonald, the 18th century Jacobite heroine. Just a short drive away is the magical Fairy Glen and the Quiraing, a stunning geological feature often used in Hollywood films. Recently appearing in Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender and soon to appear in King Arthur.
Getting around
Local bus 57a and 57c run several times a day from Portree.
