It is a show case of how modern architecture, materials and living can embrace traditional Caribbean design principles.
Completed in 2008, Coccoloba really is a sight to behold. A West Indian hip-shaped roof sits above plantation style teak verandahs covering an area of 3420 square feet. In addition there is an enormous pool allowing 54’ laps and providing a stunning 21’ infinity edge. Adjoining the pool is a further 1000 square feet of soft Jerusalem limestone deck. The whole property oozes simple clean lines and open spacious living areas.
Walk through Coccoloba’s front door and the first thing you notice is a breathtaking view of St. Kitts. Thirty two feet of bi-fold glass doors open up from the great room to give unobstructed views across the infinity edge pool, over ‘The Narrows’ and on to St. Kitts. You can even see St. Barts on a clear day! The kitchen and great room are open plan with honed limestone flooring, cypress vaulted ceiling, comfortable soft furnishings and every appliance needed for a modern kitchen. In the Great Room there is also Wi-Fi broadband internet from two separate providers and the latest 55' curved smart TV from Samsung. We have cable TV and world wide sports channels covering everything you wouldn't want to miss.
The villa is surrounded on all four sides with beautiful Trinidadian teak decked verandahs. The west verandah is 14’ deep by 72’ long with dining table, sofa, chairs and chaise longue. Watching the sunset from this elevation of 270’ is amazing, especially when you are treated with the famous ‘green flash’. You will also find that the elevation deters the mosquitoes that are usually found at sea level.
Wake up in the king sized teak four poster in the master bedroom and gaze over your feet through the 8’ glass doors at the Atlantic Sea. Turn your head to the left and look through another 10’ opening at the Caribbean Sea and the rising sun lighting up St Kitts.
The villa appears to hang on the edge of a hill overlooking Oualie Bay. It is set in 33,000 sq ft of landscaped garden at the end of a private road. Sitting back from the main island road and benefitting from the omission of adjoining neighbors, Coccoloba enjoys peacefulness and serenity. Turn off the verandah lights at night and watch the fireflies dance through the Coccoloba (Latin for ‘Seagrape’).
Coccoloba is perfectly located for enjoying the best of Nevis. Lover’s Beach, Oualie Beach, Tamarind Bay, Cades Bay and Pinney’s Beach are all within two miles. A great choice of restaurants including Gallipot, Mount Nevis, Miss June’s, Oualie Beach Hotel, Coconut Grove and Yachtsman’s Grill are also on the doorstep. Oualie Bay provides water sports including scuba diving, yacht charter, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and wind surfing. Take a water taxi over to St Kitts and enjoy a meal at Beach House or Spice Mill. All that Oualie Bay offers within a 10 minute walk.
Coccoloba is that special spot in the Caribbean that will help fulfill all your holiday dreams.
This beautiful property is the finest there is! From ease of booking directly with Peter, to Louise assisting with our arrival & car rental. Once we stepped foot into the Villa it was obvious that pictures failed to capture the extraordinary beauty of this property. The infinity pool, wrap around deck with amazing open air living, boundless views of the ocean & St. Kitts. Everything you need and more is provided in this wonderful home. Great hospitality offered by Peter & Louise, arranging dinners, setting up transportation and alway available to offer suggestion. Beautiful mornings with fresh coffee to amazing sunsets, this is the best there is. You can spend your days in the pool, or visit one of the many beautiful beaches only minutes rom the property.

Secluded, exclusive, totally private luxury villa overlooking the prettiest bay.
Review #25645674
We absolutely loved the 3 weeks we stayed at the Villa! Peter & Louise met us on arrival and are delightful. Louise coordinated our coming and going from Nevis including our rental car. The villa, the view and the pool were like a hidden paradise. The owners have taken great lengths to make the grounds breathtaking as well. The bedrooms were super comfortable. The bathrooms are well done and the master has an outside shower that feels like you are showering in an island paradise. The kitchen is well equipped. Everything we needed was there! The best is the pool area with the infinity pool, comfortable chaises, couches and dining table.....THE SUNSET IS AMAZING!

Stunning!
Peter and Louise own the most gorgeous villa in an absolutely idyllic setting at the top of a winding lane opposite Oualie Beach. The landscaping surrounding the driveway to the villa sets the scene, a dictionary definition of everything an island home should look like. Once through the door, the magnificent view takes your breath away, nothing is in your line of sight except the odd yacht bobbing away on the (usually) tranquil ocean.
There is everything you need at the villa, a generator which I personally think is the most important thing when staying on Nevis, (the power is patchy at times), and every conceivable kitchen convenience for the designated chef, including a bbq for those who, like us, prefer to catch their dinner.
The villa was beautifully presented and the housekeeper took immense pride in her job and kept the house immaculate. There were loads of clean towels for both the bathrooms and the beach and fabulous pool floats, all of which were in pristine condition.
We did eventually venture out, Bananas restaurant is a must, as is Sunshines beach bar, beware the killer bee rum punch, it'll sting if you have 2 or more of them. Chrishi beach is our favourite beach to visit as it as a super beach club with four poster sun loungers and a never ending supply of rose wine. It is a 5 minute drive from the villa.
We all cried when we left, it was the perfect place for the perfect getaway.

PARADISE
The rainbows, the sunsets, the hummingbirds, the monkeys, the smell of the gardens. This place is heaven on earth! Peter & Louise were absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for peace & quiet, complete and total privacy and a place to decompress this is it! The pictures don't do it justice. We left the house once a day to get out but could absolutely stay put if you really wanted to. Restaurants are not very far away either. Perfect location! Will definitely return!

Heaven!
Had the most amazing time at this lovely villa! At the top of the steep, rocky road is the most gorgeous house ever, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The views... breath taking is an understatement. You can see across to St. Kitts and in the distance St. Barths. Lying by the pool - the blues of the pool, the ocean and the sky, the peace and quiet is incredible, so calming. The deck is huge and super comfortable for lounging, with sofas and a chaise but if you'd rather be inside there is a wall of glass doors that open up so that you can still enjoy the amazing views. Peter and Louise are the perfect hosts - able to answer any questions and full of recommendations as to where to eat out, etc. We did venture out for a couple of meals but really, who wants to leave this place?! Cannot recommend it highly enough - you will want for nothing at this special place!

Best View in all of our Travels!
Freshly back from our stay at Coccoloba, and that amazing view is seared into our brains forever. The way the infinity pool blends into the Caribbean Sea is breathtaking. We could not stop staring at the amazing view and especially loved the sunset reflection in the pool. This place is perfectly appointed, perfectly laid out, perfectly designed, and even perfectly provisioned (basic groceries to start!). Several days, we opted not to leave at all. The open-window wall is an amazing feature. Opening the house every morning and having coffee in the midst of the 180 degree water view was truly special. Not to mention the espresso machine and milk frother! We found nowhere else on the island we liked better. Peter and Louise were very easy to work with and so friendly and helpful! They made the transfers from the airport to water taxi to car rental simple and seamless. I cannot say enough about the entire experience. Nevis is remote and it was a bit of an adventure as we drove around the island seeking out many delightful restaurants. We truly felt a world away, but that world away was indeed, luxurious. Wi-fi, a local cell phone, satellite TV etc . . . we were as connected as we wanted to be. We were 2 adults with a teenaged son and between us we read 10 books, took 5 naps, cared for the 2 cats, watched at least 4 monkeys in the surrounding trees every day, and deepened our tans significantly. If you are considering it, book Coccoloba now. You will not be sorry.

Exclusive luxury villa with stunning vistas and totaly privacy.
Coccoloba is the perfect locus whence to enjoy Nevesian paradise!
We returned for our 3rd thoroughly delightful week-long visit to this glorious one-in-a-million luxury lodging.
EXTERIOR: We were enticed by the long (~12 meter shallow-to-deep) sparklingly clear fresh-water pool. Spectacular underwater lighting invites repetitive nighttime swims. Credit brilliant siting; its infinity-edge disappears into the Caribbean. Extensive tile decking surrounds the pool and villa for endless outdoor relaxing. We never wanted to leave this beautiful hilltop eyrie, with views to die for. Sunsets are enthralling on the western horizon. Attractive terraced tropical gardens, occasionally visited by fascinating native vervet monkeys, complete the enchanting setting. A fully featured propane-fired barbecue grille is available on the exterior deck. Importantly for us, the villa accords tranquil 360-degree total privacy.
INTERIOR: A unusually spacious open floor-plan flows seamlessly from indoors to outdoors. We enjoyed many meals on the cool covered veranda, that overlooks the channel separating St Kitts and Nevis. (Note: excellent restaurants are less than 15 min away; see TripAdvisor reviews.) Furnishings are top-drawer contemporary with lots of natural wood. The large tiled designer bathrooms are fitted with very large high-tech showers. Bedrooms and the great room feature room-wide 2-meter-tall glass door-panels, which fully open onto the pool deck. So you feel outside even whilst inside enjoying pleasing zephyrs wafting through.
All appliances are new top-of-the-line; kitchen is over-kitted with cookware, tableware, cappuccino-maker and every other utensil or gadget that you could desire. A/C is limited to the bedrooms, but we used infrequently preferring the breezes and sounds of the lush environment. Overhead fans abound.
Maid and pool service is mid-week. The villa is spotlessly clean throughout.
GENERAL: Owners Peter & Louise are so friendly, helpful and fully knowledgeable. They efficiently organised local transport—land and water taxis to/from SKB airport and a perfect on-island hired self-drive vehicle. Thanks to the owners, these logistics were effortless. Since they live/work but a few km away, they're promptly available if needed. WiFi/Internet is good for Nevis. Ask Peter to explain their entertainment systems. 70+ cable TV channels with additional stored media and DVD libraries. Two small cute and affectionate cats reside. The 1/2-km private road steeply climbing to the villa is daunting, but managed with our 4WD.
The website pictures are accurate, but cannot convey the magnificent ambiance nor luxurious privacy—over-the-top. We want to come back again and again.

Stunning, serene, seriously special
This is the second time we have spent a week at Coccoloba - we loved even more than the first. The view is the best on Nevis - the infinity pool and the sea merge into one seamless panorama of blue. The bedrooms are large, the beds big and comfortable; the bathrooms have great showers and the kitchen well-equipped, with large American fridge and all the gadgets you could possibly want. As far as location goes, it is handy for all the best beaches, restaurants and bars, yet serenely above it all - no noise. A truly wonderful experience that never disappoints.

Stunning hideaway.
Spent a week at this lovely property. I've no doubt it has one of the best views in the Caribbean with St Kitts across the water and sunsets directly across.
Very luxurious, yet homely..especially with a resident cat! Which is very pleasant and low maintenance.
The fantastic infinity pool kept our 12 year old entertained throughout and the excellent Oualie beach is right on your doorstep - one of the nicest beaches on the island, along with Lovers beach just a short walk further along.
All in all loved our stay and Peter & Louise are very respectful of your privacy, yet are always at hand should you need anything.
Hope to stay again the near future. Lovely.

Private Fabulous Home with the best view on the Island!
We stayed at Coccoloba with another couple to celebrate 25th wedding anniversaries and some milestone birthdays. Let me just start off by saying I needed at least 10 days in this home as I did not want to leave on our final days. The home is perfectly set up for two couples. Two very large bedrooms with a nice master bath and hall bath. The kitchen is well equipped although we ate out for lunch and dinner as there are some fantastic restaurants on the island. We spent all of our time outside, enjoying the view day and night! The pool is so refreshing after a hot day on the beach and the infinity edge is striking against the backdrop of the sea and St. Kitts in the background. We were so happy with our decision on renting Coccoloba and would highly recommend to anyone considering visiting Nevis. Peter and Louise set up our arrival transfers and were available for questions and recommendations for the best places to eat! The trip was one I will always remember and we fell in love with this little Island called Nevis! Thank you Louise and Peter for sharing our stunning home with us!

Coccoloba is beautifully secluded at the end of a private road overlooking Oualie Bay. This is on the popular north east coast. Set in 0.75 terraced and landscaped acres it is perfect for lounging on the deck or in the pool without a care in the world. The property is surrounded by acres of dense woodland with no immediate neighbours, just stunning views over our cliff edge towards the Caribbean and St Kitts. Look closely and you might just see the roof top of our nearest neighbour a few hundred yards away.
Our private road (Ridge Road) is just behind Oualie Beach Hotel where you will find all the islands watersports. Just a few minutes drive in either direction brings you to a host of restaurants and beaches unmatched in any other part of the island. We are also just 10 minutes drive from the Four Seasons Resort and Golf Course and another 5 minutes to Charlestown.
Getting around
A rental vehicle is not just recommended, it is essential and that is regardless of where you are staying in Nevis. Public transport almost invariably does not go to or from the places you want to go and taxis are expensive.

Car required
How to get there
We meet you directly off your plane, ferry or most often, water taxi. We then show you up the hill and introduce you to Coccoloba!
