Mid-Mill cottage is a single story building situated between the old working water mill and the main house it has a large double bedroom with a super /king size bed,which can also be made up as 2 single beds, picture window looking out over the wild life pond, comfortably furnished sitting room with dining area, a small fully equipped galley kitchen with fridge with ice box, electric cooker toaster etc door opening out over a little bridge to the garden with the 12 foot water wheel immediately on the left (does not run all the time so no disturbance from working machinery) guests have access to the BBQ so sit out on a nice summers evening for alfresco dining
The Mill is in working order and can be seen milling locally grown wheat on Sundays approx 3pm for demonstrations the Mill is open to the public 2-6pm Saturday and Sundays during the...

You will be offered a cream tea on arrival we also supply toilet rolls all kitchen linen washing up liquid etc there is plenty of info about the local area and Richard and I are happy to make suggestions of places to visit and any local events taking place during your stay You are welcome to make use of the BBQ plates etc can be supplied you just bring your food Dogs are welcome if well behaved they have the freedom of the garden but please clean up after them The main rule is have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday we are on hand to help if needed

We had 3 nights in the cottage and had no complaints whatsoever. Lovely setting and more importantly the cottage was spotless, warm and relaxing. The owners were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the cottage to friends. Watching the trout swimming in the mill...More

Situated in the depths of the country but with easy level access from the free car park opposite across a quiet country road with little traffic. With surrounding attractions such as Beaulieu Motor museum, The Jurassic Coast, The Heavy Horse Center, fishing on the Rivers Stour and Avon and Salisbury Cathedral to name a few.If unavailable try Millers End cottage
Getting around
We do recommend the use of a car, but there is a good bus service from Fordingbridge to Salisbury and to Bournemouth There is also the New forest tour bus which is a hop on hop off service throughout the New Forest
Plenty of cycle hire points and wonderful gravel tracks throughout the forest to explore Horse riding is another way of exploring the forest and of course there are wonderful beaches weather permitting and Why not visit the Isle of Wight a lovely day out

Leave the M27 at junction 1 sign posted Cadnam and The New forest at the roundabout take the 3 exit sign posted Fordingbridge continue through the Forest to Fordingbridge town pass through the town and follow signs for Sandleheath and Damerham. On reaching Sandleheath village post office set back in the layby on the left continue to next X roads turn left (tourist board sign to Alderholt Mill) continue down the hill to the Mill. Building on the left, car park on your right
