The house is perfectly located for exploring Kyoto and getting to the train station to explore further afield. There’s also a convenience store across the road. There are busses that go by regularly but I can’t really comment on them any further as we walked...More

Although a traditional house, this accommodation has been modernised with love and great taste. Akiko was amazingly helpful with the booking, particularly when having to amend the dates. The house is very private, however, only a few minutes walk to the bus stop with routes...More

OMG we absolutely LOVED staying here! What a wonderful, warm, comfortable home...we were very sad to leave! We arrived in Kyoto very (very) late after almost 2 days of non stop travel and when we entered the Machiya, we just stopped and stared...the space! the...More

Our Machiya is very conveniently located less than 1 km away from the famous Kiyomizu Temple, just south of Gojo Street.
Bus stops are a mere couple of minutes away and allow for direct access to a lot of touristic places and sites.

The easiest way to reach the house is to catch a cab from Kyoto station -- 10 min only for less than yen 1,000 (for up to four persons). Or take a bus from the station and stop almost in front of the house.
