Holiday Rental House
Inside, Orrin is unfussy, with gas heater in the lounge and gas cooker and water heater. There are electric heating panels on the bedroom ceilings which provide extra warmth if the nights are cool. We provide bedlinen and basic kitchen utensils. If you find you need something that is not already in the caravan, please just ask! The caravan does not have added insulation, so we have extra blankets available, but do not offer dates in the colder times of year. Druimorrin is a small, family-run concern, popular with lovers of the countryside, walkers, fishermen, photographers and bird watchers. It is on 5 acres of private land, ideally situated for touring the north and west Highlands, a perfect tranquil retreat from the crowded tourist areas. Druimorrin is a small, family-run concern, popular with lovers of the countryside, walkers, fishermen, photographers and bird watchers. It is on 5 acres of private land, ideally situated for touring the north and west Highlands, a perfect tranquil retreat from the crowded tourist areas. We have been welcoming holiday makers to Druimorrin since 1974. The trees are taller now and the road quieter, but we hope to offer the same warmth of personal service. It is always a pleasure to make new acquaintances and greet old friends returning year after year. Dogs are welcome and will benefit from attractive walks in the area. Pet owners are asked to bring appropriate bedding and dishes. We accept bookings on a Saturday to Saturday basis, and may be able to accommodate shorter breaks at certain times of year. Please get in touch if you have any queries. Muir of Ord village 2.5 miles away has shops, filling station and medical centre, RDA registered Chapelton riding centre, Glen Ord Distillery and an 18 hole, par 67, heath and moorland golf course. Access for guests with reduced mobility - Parking is directly outside the caravan and access to Orrin is from concrete hard standing onto a permanent ramp with a level, deck-style landing at the top of the ramp, or by three steps with handrail onto the same level landing. This landing extends along the length of the caravan exterior allowing access to either door. Inside, the caravan is all on one level and all doors are sliding. There is a removable seating unit in the lounge which can be taken out to allow wheelchair access to the dining table. The shower and toilet are both located in the same room. The shower cubicle has a fixed, fold-down seat and grabrail. The shower cubicle has a relatively low threshold and the curtain can be pushed to either side for convenience. The toilet is raised and has a handrail on either side, one of which can be folded back when not in use. There is an additional handrail on the right hand side of the wash hand basin. Both bedrooms have adequate space at the side of the bed and fixing points in the roof above the bed. The circular picnic table outside has space for wheelchair access and is also on the hard standing. More

About the neighbourhood
Our nearest village is Marybank, some 2 miles west of Druimorrin. This is a small, rural community, home to the local primary school, the Balloan House pub and B&B and the Fairburn Memorial Hall which houses a sub-post office two mornings a week. Most of the facilities for visitors are in Muir of Ord, 2.5 miles to the east of Druimorrin, Beauly, just beyond the Muir, 4 miles away or in the county town of Dingwall, 7 miles away. This is an historic area with atmospheric buildings around almost every corner and traditions galore. With the peaceful surroundings, you might be forgiven for thinking the area is remote, but supermarket shopping in Dingwall includes Lidl and 24-hour Tesco and even closer, Muir of Ord has the Scottish Co-Op, general grocer and filling station. The local butcher, ...
Getting around
We are on the North Coast 500, the Highland's scenic driving route, venturing through some of the loveliest and most dramatic landscape in Britain. Druimorrin is ideally located to allow guests to head off in the morning to explore as far afield as the Isle of Skye or Caithness by car and still be back in time for tea!
