Our stay was truly mediocre. The house is most definitely not appropriate for young children as the stairs going to the second floor are almost like a ladder they are so steep as well as the stairs leading off the terrace. The baby gate at...More

The place is great. In a private estate surrounded by a beautiful fynbos you can sleep in front of the see. Anytime again

About the neighbourhood
Nature lovers will enjoy the walk around Bird Island at the Kommetjie slipway,

From here you can amble along the catwalk until you reach “Outer Kom one of the famous surfing spots in Kommetjie.
Following the boardwalk from here will lead you past Slangkop Lighthouse and up to a World War 2 radar station on top of the mountain, where you can marvel at the sweeping views of the Kommetjie shoreline.

Kommetjie features a range of plant and animal species, many of which are endangered. The village is well known for its milkwood groves, birdlife .

Kommetjie forms part of the fynbos biome, which boasts the highest (and rarest) number of plant species per square kilometre.

Getting around
To see the sights in Cape Town you would defnately need a car.

The train and bus routes near the Villa would not be recommended. I do however recommend you use a taxi service should you choose not to hire a car and a taxi service can be organised or tours companies can be recommended.

Airport: Cape Town International: 50.0 km
Railway: Fish Hoek station: 8.0 km
Ferry: Cape Town : 45.0 km
From the main exit from Cape Town International Airport, follow the signs to the N2. Continue along the N2, until close to the Mountain and past a large intersection called Liesbeek Parkway. About 1km further turn off to the left where the sign says “Muizenberg M3”. This highway will take you past Table Mountain and the University, then through Bishop’s Court and eventually past the Constantia Wine lands. Where the M3 ends at a T-Junction, turn right. About 1km further turn Left onto “Ou Kaapse Weg” M64. The “Ou Kaapse Weg” takes one over the Silvermine Mountains and down to the Noordhoek Valley. Once over the mountain it becomes the M65. Continue with the M65 past Sun Valley and at the 2nd set of traffic light
