Overview
Holiday Rental House -
3 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Muker, Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire, England
Stockdale is a lovely home in upper Swaledale, in Thwaite, a tiny rural village, about a mile updale from Muker. The house is lovingly maintained by its owners, who live not far away and visit regularly. The cottage has two living rooms, each with its own tv, to avoid arguments! Each room also has an open fire, all coal included. Background heat is from electric storage heaters.
There is a spacious dining kitchen, with rear access to a cobbled courtyard with views of Kisdon, and a picnic bench.
Upstairs are three good-sized bedrooms, king, dble, and twin, and a roomy family bathroom, which has bath, separate shower, WC and basin.
Stockdale is full of Dales character, with lovely oak doors and open fires, and is right on the edge of the village, with walks direct from the door, either through meadows, or the nearby Pennine Way.

About the neighbourhood
Swaledale is the most northerly, and most beautiful, of the Yorkshire Dales. Fantastic scenery, wonderful walking and cycling, and amazing views of nearby hills. The Wensleydale Creamery, in Hawes, is worth a visit, and there are plenty of good local shops in Hawes. Muker has Swaledale Woollens, Muker Gallery and Craft Shop, and Muker Tearoom and Village Shop, along with the Farmer's Arms.
Getting around
A car is recommended to explore the area fully, although it is possible to get a train to Darlington, the two buses to Thwaite.
Access
Car advised
How to get there
Railway: Darlington: 45.0 km
Although you can take the train to Darlington, then two buses up to Thwaite, a car is much easier, and once you're here, is recommended to get around to explore.
