The Old Workshop is a luxury two bed cottage in a private courtyard on the edge of Bath. As the other four properties in our courtyard, (see below), the Old Workshop is finished to a very high standard and has achieved a 'Gold' award from 'Visit Britain' the UK's official tourism authority. It's ideal for a romantic get-away, a relaxing break or a base for all the many sights of the area. The accommodation is flexible, so the property is suitable and cost effective for between one and four people.

The Old Workshop has been set up to maximise the views over the beautiful Bathampton meadows at the rear, so the lounge/kitchen/dining area is on the top floor and the two bedrooms on the ground floor.

The fresh air ventilation and heat recovery system, coupled with luxurious underfloor heating, means you should enjoy perfect temperatures all year round.

Much use has been made of natural materials, so you will find lots of oak throughout the property, including the kitchen cabinets, which have been painted in one of our favourite Farrow and Ball colours.

The lounge area has two Chesterfield 2 seater leather sofas in which you can just sit and enjoy the view or take in some DVDs or your favourite music from the docking station.

Please note the prices for 2 persons assumes use of just one bedroom and bathroom. The other bedroom and bathroom will be closed off. If you would like separate rooms, then £40 is added to the price to cover the extra cleaning and laundry costs etc.

All bookings attract a £15 premium against damage. This covers you for all accidental damage up to £100. Everything else is included.

Minimum rental period at Xmas and stays leading up to or over a Bank Holiday is 3 nights.

Getting around
We are very lucky to have excellent transport links of all kinds, especially the bus stop on the road outsidse the courtyard.

Guests find this the most convenient way to access the City, bypassing much of the trafiic with bus lanes. On average it takes about 10 minutes to the City. Most guests leave their cars in our car park and use the bus for the duration of their stay.

But perhaps the most popular way to access the City is by water! Just 10 minutes walk from the property is the Bathampton Mill where you may catch one of a number of river buses into the City from March to Oct. It is a beautiful way to see Bath from another angle. Return to Batheaston by bus.

For those arriving by train, a taxi will bring you to us for less than £10

The Old Workshop is accessed through a courtyard just off the High Street in the village of Batheaston, one of the small suburbs of the famous historic City of Bath.

Access by road is very simple. We are about half a mile from the main roundabout intersection of the A46 onto the London Road going into Bath.

There is a secure car parking space immediately in front of the property, whilst the bus stop, with regular services to and from the City, is immediately in front of the main building on the High Street. Typical journey time by bus or car is 10 minutes.

You can also walk or cycle, the towpath along the canal being a particularly attractive route. For a really leisurely journey you can get the boat to and from the City, from a landing stage by the weir on the river, just 5 or so minut...
