Poljana is a picturesque village in the bay that is surrounded by the peninsula of St. Peter with the Romanesque church from the 13th century of the same name and offers all beauties and charms of rural accommodation through village homes and surrounded by the olive groves. Many wells with drinking water and a greater number of hours of sunshine are the reason why vegetables grow here during all four seasons. Fresh fruit and vegetables daily delivered from Poljana to the market in Zadar. In Poljana lives only 250 residents, and even the six brides from around the world. Finn, Polish, Belgian, German, Italian and English woman came to live in the Poljana many years ago, and the main reason was love.
Island Ugljan is one of the most picturesque islands in the Zadar archipelago. It lies opposite to Zadar from which it is divided by only the few NM of the Zadar Channel. The island is connected to mainland with good ferry services. The Pleasant ferry ride takes 20 minutes. Thanks to its coves, surrounding islands and a rich maritime underworld it is a real challenge for diving and fishing. The wavy high plains of the inland are covered with around for fifty kilometers of trekking and biking trails, leaving an unforgettable picture of colors, odors and panorama to all passers-by. Ferry rides last 15-25 minutes. Ferries operate every hour during the summer season. Passenger and vehicle tickets can be bought in the agencies of the ferry company Jadrolinija in the harbor of your departure. Bike is best transportation on island.
