Set on the first floor of this beautiful barn conversion, The Granary is a spacious first floor apartment ideal for a getaway with friends or family, set in pleasant unspoilt countryside and serving as a great base to explore the Northern Fells of Cumbria or the Scottish Borders. The living area is spacious and comfortable. Leading from the hallway is a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for making those hearty breakfasts at the start of the day. There are two large double bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms, ideal for those wanting a little extra privacy. Underfloor heating warms the accommodation throughout and keeps it cosy on chilly days, and outside is a small seating area to the front overlooking the pleasant and well-kept courtyard, an ideal spot for some al-fresco dining in warmer days. Croftlands Court was once 17th century coach house and stable block, and now contains four apartments and one cottage. Subject to availability, it is possible to use the on-site tea room for larger groups as a dining area. Set on a working farm with a prize winning herd of pedigree Jersey cows, the owners will be happy to show you around, including a chance to meet their curious calves, flocks of hens, ducks, rabbits and Kerry the little white terrier as well as the farm cat too. Golfers can enjoy one of Cumbria’s finest golf courses at Silloth, 4 miles away, while along the coast there are ample opportunities for sea fishing. The Solway Marshes are very popular with bird watchers, and further afield is the historic city of Carlisle, 20 miles away, famous for its Roman history. Take a scenic drive and head to the Lake District National Park, 15 miles away, finishing back at the farm just in time to enjoy a pot of tea and home-made cake at the on-site ‘Cups and Saucers’ tea room, open March through to October. With coast, countryside, lakes and hills there is something for everyone, whatever the weather. Beach 4¼ miles. Shop 4¼ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles. The Granary can be booked together with The Swallow’s Nest (UK1412), The Hayloft (UK30396), The Coach House (UK30397) and Millers Cottage (UK30394) to accommodate up to 20 guests. Free WiFi.
