Villa Splendid overlooks the beautiful Lake Kournas with its many tavernas but serene atmosphere. Watch the eagles soar over the Lake, spot the turtles in their special conservation area. This villa has an uninterrupted view over the Lake, sea views, and mountain - a breathtaking vista. If you can tear yourself away, there is a tourist train from the Lake to Georgopolis which is a popular tourist resort, this is a ten minute trip, the train also takes you to other places of interest. The villa is newly built and has 3 double bedrooms and sleeps 6 to 8 . It also has air conditioning and a private pool. About the neighbourhood
The cosmopolitan town of Chania has been voted the most beautiful on Crete and rightly so, with the White Mountains as a backdrop, its Venetian harbour, museums, fascinating indoor market and an old quarter of narrow streets packed with interesting shops, Chania offers something for most visitors. It is a vibrant lively town steeped in Byzantine, Venetian and Turkish history. The harbour area is a great place to sit and watch the world go by or you may like to try the park on Tzanakaki Street where there is a popular cafe tucked away in the trees. Chania is easily accessible from all of our properties either by bus, taxi or car.
How to get there
Thomsonfly and Thomascook fly direct to Crete. Olympic also fly to Crete but with a stop/transfer in Athens. Easyjet, Ryan air also fly there. Chania airport is approx 40 mins by car from the villa and Heraklion airport is approx 1.5 hours away by car. We do not arrange car hire. We recommend you arrange this directly with your airline or we can arrange taxi transfer for you and you settle up directly with the drivers. The company we use know where all our villas are. The current cost is approx 70 euros from chania airport each way and from Heraklion almost double
