Found in the hills south east of Matlock, Bonsall has a charming atmosphere and is popular with lovers of the outdoors – a walker's paradise! Surrounded by lovely countryside, lead mining caverns and caves, and even a defunct volcano, Bonsall is full of interest. Fantastic short break with two children. Cobbles was well equipped and in an ideal location to explore matlock and surrounding area. Warm welcome and convenient store and teashop on the same premises. Park opposite which the children loved . Nothing i could criticise . Overall a lovely place to stay .

We spent 3 nghts at this apartment above the great little shop and deli, next to the fountain tea rooms. Spacious, comfy beds, everyone we needed and anything we had forgotten we popped down to the shop for. Great location and. Ullage pub as well. We will be back!

The apartment is just behind the Fountain Tea Rooms at 1 Yeoman Street, Bonsall DE4 2AA. From the A6 junction at Cromford, turn towards Cromford Hill (Wirksworth, B5036) then turn right just after the Greyhound Hotel onto the Via Gellia A5012. After the red brick mill on the right hand side take the right turn up Clatterway into the village of Bonsall. The Fountain is the monument you see near the park and children's playground and the key is usually picked up from the Fountain Tea Rooms
