Study Farm Cottage, originally part of the stable block to The Study Manor House, dates from 1845 and is adjacent to the owners farmhouse in the village of Bonsall situated high above the wooded 'Via Gellia' gorge. Newly renovated, it has a large patio area with outdoor seating which has French doors opening into the brand new light and airy cream kitchen. Original features in the living/dining room include the arch windows and fireplace. The bedroom has a double bed with build in wardrobe and cupboard and features another original arched window. There is space for a travel cot. Further storage space is available in the large airing cupboard. The bathroom is also all new and has an electric shower over a full size bath. Car parking space is in the private car park shared with Study Farm Barn.

What a find...Loved our time at this beautifully renovated cottage. It was clean, comfortable & very well equipped with a beautiful patio that we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy with such beautiful weather. Location was perfect with 2 great pubs & walks...More

Stayed here for 2 weeks in May and loved every minute. A beautifully furnished well equipped cottage. Lovely owners. Friendly village. Two pubs and a tearoom all serving great food. So much to see and do in the area and beyond that we couldn't fit...More

About the neighbourhood
Bonsall is a lovely and very active village. As well as a farm shop we have two pubs serving fine ales and food.
The Barley Mow is renowned for its Landlords guided walks, sighting of UFO’s! and annual hen racing on the first Saturday in August. Most Saturdays they have live music. he Kings Head has Saturday night entertainment and Sunday night quiz’s.
We also have a monthly village publications called The Mutterings with what’s on and all the latest village gossip!!
The last Saturday in July is our annual well dressing and carnival. There are events every evening of the following week culminating in a fantastic firework display on the Friday evening. A week not to be missed!

Getting around
A bus service runs from Bonsall to Matlock. From Matlock you can go on to visit areas of the Peak District including Bakewell and beyond.
The nearest train station is at Cromford from where you can to Derby. At Derby you can go onward to major cities such as Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham.

Leave the M6 at Junction 19 signposted Knutsford. Take the A537 to Macclesfield/Buxton. Follow this road through Macclesfield (over the Cat and Fiddle). When you reach the end of this road turn right and next left and left again. Continue on this road until you come to a T junction. Turn right through Harpur Hill. At the end of this road turn right and then left and you will be on the A515. Continue on this road for approx 10 miles. Just after a petrol station on your left turn left onto the A5012 signposted for Via Gellia/Cromford. Follow this road for approx 8 miles.
