We approached the owner before booking to ask if we could pay the balance later than specified in the booking conditions on Trip Advisor, he stated as long as it was paid before we arrive in August it would be fine. So we went ahead with a booking paying nearly £1000 deposit. The Trip Advisor system then cancelled our booking because the full balance wasn't paid within 4 weeks, despite us agreeing something different with the owner. We contacted both the owner and Trip Advisor about the confusion and received no help, very unhelpful call centre who don't return calls. Trip Advisor didn't want to know despite being able to see all messages from the owner on their system confirming what we were telling them. Owner ignored a number of emails and we are now out of pocket by £1000 and have had to book somewhere else to stay for our holiday, they have completely ruined a trip of a lifetime. Stay well clear!
