Holiday Rental House
We have now completed our extension and are ready to share this wonderful place again! White Gables is a beautiful, comfortable and private detached holiday home in an elevated position overlooking the Galloway Hills to the front with views to the hills, and to the Estuary from the upper level with private woodland to the rear. We are dog friendly. There are two double bedrooms, A King on the ground floor with views over the woodland and a large Superking upstairs with views over the water and the hills. There are 2 bathrooms, one for each bedroom and a toilet by the utility room. The downstairs has a walk-in rainfall shower and the upstairs a bath with a rainfall shower over it. The house has a wood burning stove, oil fired central heating, and the fully equipped kitchen opens into a large dining area with bifold doors opening onto a large deck for outside dining. The utility room includes a washer, dryer, storage cupboards and a Belfast sink. The living room has windows on three sides, one opening out onto the deck, with outside seating and lovely views. The house and decks are South facing so are sun traps! There is a Smart TV and there is Wireless Internet throughout the house. There is a bike/storage shed, also used to store the barbecue and umbrella for the outside table. There is a large garden to the front, and the woods at the back are a haven for birds and carpeted with bluebells in the Spring. There is private parking for up to 3 cars and the garden is enclosed. There are 2 pubs in the village are 5 minutes walk away. There is also a gift shop and cafe with gift shop at the end of the village. You are welcome to bring well behaved dogs but unfortunately the property is not suitable for small children or infants.More

About the neighbourhood
This area of Dumfries and Galloway offers many annual events such as the Spring Fling, the Wigtown Book Fair, The Kircudbright Art Trail, and various sailing regattas. The Galloway Night Sky Park, Mersehead (RSPB), and other world famous RSPB at Wetland sites are only a short drive away. We are only 4 miles from the 7Stanes Mountain Bike trail at Dalbeattie, and the area is well renowned for coastal and hill walks - many starting from the house itself. The Jubilee Path to Rockcliffe starts in Kippford for a gentle walk, or for the more adventurous it goes all the way to Sandyhills. There is Course and Game Fishing available locally, Golf, and beautiful gardens such as Threave Castle to visit, with Sweetheart Abbey just a short drive away.
Getting around
There are wonderful hillside and seaside walks with maps and details in the house. There is a bus service to Dalbeattie and Sandyhills several times a day but a car is recommended. The area is perfect for cycling too.
