Holiday Rental House
Skelton Cottage is a single storey dwelling converted from the original stables. Named after the Reverand Robert Skelton, the rather eccentric Rector of Levisham who commissioned Grove House in the early 19th Century. The cottage is a bright and spacious single storey home-from-home for two adults. The entrance hall & boot room leads to a bright inner central hallway with seating and access to other rooms. With a large kitchen window affording lovely views across the grounds of Grove House to the passing steam trains, the bright, modern kitchen-diner is fully equipped. A dishwasher, full size electric oven and microwave are provided. The pine table and chairs comfortably seats 4 people. With similar views across to the railway, the spacious but cosy sitting room features a tradition...Skelton Cottage is a single storey dwelling converted from the original stables. With similar views across to the railway, the spacious but cosy sitting room features a traditional stone fireplace and log burning stove. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, bedside cabinets and a wardrobe. Cottage occupancy is normally agreed at 2 people but the sitting room does contain a sofa bed to cater for alternative sleeping arrangements. Additional bedding can be supplied on request. The large bathroom comprises a full size bath and separate enclosure with power shower. The cottage has secure, individual Wifi access to a high-speed broadband internet connection. The shared garden includes a private terrace with great views; perfect for sitting out. A table for meals and a Weber barbecue make this a lovely spot to enjoy the chatter of the birds and the sights & sounds of passing steam trains (in season) as they bring the landscape to life. Outside, the private terrace is south facing. Catching the sun most of the day, it provides a picturesque spot for meals and for cooking on the Weber barbecue. Perfect too to just sit out and relax. The shared garden looks out across the grounds of Grove House with views of the passing steam trains (in season). Access is via a gated, shared driveway with ample off-street parking. A separate shared laundry facility with washer and drier as well as useful freezer space is available to guests. A rotary clothes line also utilised by ourselves is located near the cottage with clothes pegs provided. Whilst the cottages are 'self catering', all kitchen basics such as cleaning products, foil, cling film, oil and condiments are present for use during your stay. A starter pack with tea, coffee and milk is there to see you through to your first grocery shop locally.More
