The Cheese House comprises of an ensuite family room with double bed and bunk beds, a living/ dining room, a fully fitted kitchen and another bathroom. The bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two bedside tables, towel rail and digital television. Beds are made up for your arrival and towels and additional bedding are provided. The Cheese House has central heating so is lovely and warm.

Loved every minute.Our two dogs enjoyed the walks down the lane and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.Made to feel welcome from the start.

We received a very warm welcome from Zan, she had even baked us a cake and told us where the heating controls were, if you are like us and love animals this is the place to stay, I was met most morning by the hens...More

About the neighbourhood
The quiet and tranquil nature of the scenic area is superb for walking. We have a walking leaflet with a series of seven walks, varying in difficulty and length, which start from the cottage door. The quiet roads are also superb for cyclists.

The unspoilt nature of the area is ideal for a variety of wildlife species to thrive. In the countryside surrounding the cottage you can spot red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards and red kites. We are close to the Dark Skies Galloway Forest Park and therefore the cottage is ideally located for star gazing. There are plenty of nature reserves in the area too, the Wildlife and Wetland Trust at Caerlaverock and RSPB Mersehead are close by. By Car: From the South:
Take the A75 to Dumfries and then the A76 towards Kilmarnock. Approximately six miles from Dumfries turn left off the A76 at the Auldgirth Barbecue Pit. (We are three miles from the A76 - follow signs in the shape of sheep). Take your first right, second left towards Glenmidge, next right, right again and Low Kirkbride Farm is the first farm on your left.

By Car: From the North:
