About the neighbourhood
Montbarla sits just five kilometres from Lauzerte, a medieval village with a classification of one of the most beautiful in France and a stop on the route of St. Jacques de Compostela. Housing all the necessary amenities including supermarkets, bank, post office, bars and restaurants. Twenty minutes will take you to Moissac, sitting on the canal of the two seas and the stunning River Tarn. A town full of architectural delights including a stunning Abbey, good restaurants and shops and lovely walks along the towpath of the River Tarn. Just 20 minutes from the Lot there is much to be enjoyed , a trip to Montcuq for its wonderful Sunday morning market and buzzing café bars, or further over to the historic town of Cahors, home of the black wine.
Getting around
Always good to have a hire car here but if not Paulette can arrange airport transfers from Toulouse, Bergerac or Bordeaux - she will supply rates on application. Moissac rail is just 20 minutes from Salazar and offers a service to Toulouse and Bordeaux.
