This detached cottage in the Northumberland village of Horsley sleeps two people.The Lodge is a detached stone-built studio cottage situated in the village of Horsley, near Heddon-on-the-Wall and Newcastle upon Tyne. This single-storey cottage sleeps two people in an open plan studio accommodation layout with a king-size double, kitchen, breakfast bar and a sitting area. The cottage also has a separate bathroom. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a small front patio with furniture. The Lodge is a wonderful romantic retreat close to many places of interest. Amenities: Gas central heating. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife. Town: Situated south of the River Tyne is Heddon-on-the-Wall, on the line of the old Hadrian's Wall, with a section of wall still visible at the edge of the village. The village is surrounded by farms and open countryside, yet nearby the historic village of Wylam, the birthplace of George Stephenson, and also the town of Corbridge, which has an array of small shops. Just fourteen miles away from Heddon-on-the-Wall is the town of Hexham with its Abbey, Old Gaol and town centre. The bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne is within driving distance and has many attractions, shops and eateries which will suit all tastes. Heddon-on-the-Wall is an ideal base to explore the many attractions, villages and towns in the area.More

This holiday was spoilt from first day by lack of basics . The location was a bit hard to find as driveway has no cottage sign up and driveway looks as though it leads to someone's private house. Arrival day put casserole in oven when...More

Beautiful cottage with stunning views, well equipped! Please note there are no curtains in the cottage, so if you don't like the sun in the mornings it could annoy you! The bathroom is amazing but the bath is very high with a shower in it,...More
