I live in the village so I'm generally on hand if guests need anything. The keys will be in the key safe and I'll send you the code in advance of your stay. I like to welcome guests and can always provide recommendations of things to do and places to eat. However, I'm absolutely respectful of guest privacy and will leave you in peace to enjoy your break. I'm a qualified massage therapist specialising in Swedish massage and I can provide relaxing, therapeutic massage treatments in the comfort of your cottage.

About the neighbourhood
We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world – it’s a cliche but there really is something for everyone. Whether you are up for a big adventure or just want to chill and do very little then read on and plan your perfect itinerary.
For the more active amongst you there are amazing walks, mountain biking, fishing and golf up for grabs. You can visit one of the many historic houses in the area or just take in the beautiful views and relax in your luxurious cottage.
If you want to travel further afield Edinburgh and Newcastle are a train journey away.
From the doorstep you can walk for miles in the beautiful countryside. There’s a wealth of wildlife and striking scenery with fresh air and beautiful, pastoral views all around.
Getting around
As this is a fairly rural area, it's best to have a car. Berwick upon Tweed is the closest mainline train station (approx. 25 mins from the village) and taxis are available at the station. Edinburgh and Newcastle are both around one hour's drive away and also accessible by train from Berwick.

The cottage is in a small village in a beautiful, rural part of the Scottish Borders. Public transport is fairly limited so guests are recommended to bring a car. The village is fairly equidistant between Edinburgh and Newcastle airports (both just over an hour's drive away) and there is a mainline station at Berwick upon Tweed (approx. 25 mins' drive from the cottage) with taxis available at the station.
