Yetholm, Borders, Scotland
Set in the tranquil foothills of the Cheviot Hills and on the edge of Northumberland National Park, Gypsy Palace is a beautiful detached self catering holiday cottage with a fascinating history. Kirk Yetholm, a small conservation village set in the Scottish Borders, was regarded as the home of the gypsies of Scotland and Northern England for over 300 years and Gypsy Palace is famous the world over as the home of the Gypsy Kings and Queens and is known as the 'Smallest Palace in the World'.

Quirky cottage in a lovely location for walking. The cottage had most things needed for a short stay and was comfortable. Unfortunately the internet didn't work the whole time we were there which made it impossible to check tide times, opening times and weather forecasts...More

Thanks for your review Wendy. Unfortunately we were away on holiday in Spain and didn't receive your messages until after you had left. Its a pity you didn't give us time to respond but never mind. The cottage had just undergone some building work and...More

Lovely location on edge of village and on Pennine Way. Full of character and history, but fully equipped and comfortable. Pub in the village and shop nearby. Great location for quiet holiday.

About the neighbourhood
The area around Kirk Yetholm is so quiet and peaceful and for our past guests that is the biggest attraction: the chance to get away from the stresses and pressures of modern living and to be able to unwind and relax. Our cottage is situated on a very quiet road that has next-to-no traffic and with superb views of the Cheviot Hills and Glendale Valley. Its perfect for walking - we're situated right on the Pennine Way.
The nearby town of Kelso is good for shopping and has a lovely feel about it with cobbled streets and a good selection of cafes and restaurants.
