Main bedroom with kingsize bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers. White cotton bedlinen provided.
View from main bedroom towards Ditchling Beacon.
Main bathroom - recently refurbished. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and basin
Ktichen, with all the crockery, cutlery and utensils needed for family cooking
Second double  bedroom (4'6' bed). Basin. Wardrobe. white cotton bedlinen provided.
One of two single bedrooms (both have 3ft beds) - cotton bedlinen provided.
The cottage has practical rustic furnishings, with an Arts&Crafts / Bloomsbury feel.
Large downstairs cloakroom.
Dining area, which leads onto terrace
Terrace and view westwards towards Ditchling Beacon
View eastward from the terrace towards Lewes.
Front door, and path from parking area to side garden.
Terrace with wonderful views over the South Downs.
The front garden with bay bushes, rosemary, sage and lavender.
Under the shady sycamore tree in the side garden
Side lawn for badminton and boules.
In late April, May, and early June the garden flowers and wild flowers are at their best.
Front gate & private lane - you can walk or cycle along here to a fab pub

About the neighbourhood
Our area is dominated by the curving geology of the scarp side of the South Downs. This is exactly where Raymond Briggs imagined his 'Snowman' flights, and where Roland Emmett created and built (in the old forge next to our cottage) his flying car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Take a walk up the Downs at any time of year and you'll see why they were inspired! Below the Downs, the landscape is small-scale agricultural, dotted with deciduous woodlands and, in Spring, wild-garlic banked streams. Horses and riding are very popular - hence be prepared to drive very slowly down the narrow, high-hedged lanes! Ferry: Newhaven: 20.0 km
This cottage is easily accessible from London, and Gatwick, and from all areas around. Full directions and location are available on enquiry or booking. Driving from Central London takes approx 90 minutes via the M25 and M23. Gatwick is 30 minutes drive or rail journey. Our charming local branch train station is 20 minutes walk away down a private track. Trains run every hour to Gatwick, East Croydon and London Victoria. There is free parking at the station also. You can also take the train from Plumpton to Lewes, Glyndebourne, Eastbourne, and Hastings. A car is advisable, although by foot or bike you have easy access to Plumpton Stores, which has a wide selection of foods and household good, or Ditchling which has newsagents and a deli. There are several farm shops in the vicinity.
