Arrival by Plane
Broadstairs is easily accessible from most major airports in the region. Gatwick Airport (LGW) is the nearest international airport with regular flights from all over the world. The easiest way to reach Broadstairs from Gatwick is by train. Heathrow Airport is a little further away to the west of London and travelling from Heathrow by train is again the easiest route to Broadstairs.
Arrival by Train
Broadstairs is very well connected to all major attractions and transport hubs on the rail network. Southeastern Trains operate regular half-hourly trains from Broadstairs to London Victoria (and vice-versa) Mon - Sat and hourly services on Sundays. There are also hourly services to/from London Charing Cross and Canterbury West and also Dover Priory (for ferries to France - see below) and Ashford International (for some Eurostar services) every day of the week. Journey times to/from London on either route take ~2hrs. A high-speed service from London St. Pancras to the Kent Coast calls at Ebsfleet International Station and Ashford International Station.
From Gatwick airport, you can take the Gatwick Express train to London Victoria, and change there for Southeastern services (~3.5hrs). It is also possible to reach Broadstairs from Gatwick travelling via Redhill and Tonbridge.
From Heathrow airport you can take the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington (or the Underground Piccadilly Line into Central London) and change on the Underground for Victoria/Charing Cross. From Victoria/Charing Cross take SouthEastern services to Broadstairs (~3.5hrs).
Broadstairs is well linked via road. From London take the M2 motorway coastbound towards Faversham, where it will turn into the A299. Keep following the A299 towards Ramsgate. Broadstairs will appear on signposts.
If arriving at the Port of Dover, make your way by bus/taxi (Port officials + staff will assist you with transport) to Dover Priory station, where there are regular services to Ramsgate (Change at Ramsgate for Broadstairs trains) and Margate (direct to Broadstairs). Journey times to Broadstairs from Dover Priory are around 30-40mins
National Express operate services from London Victoria Coach Station that stop at Broadstairs Highstreet (These are usually found as services to Ramsgate). Journey time is roughly 3hrs.
There are local buses in Broadstairs, the most efficient being the "Thanet Loop" which runs through Broadstairs Town Centre in two directions; towards Margate and towards Ramsgate.
Westwood Cross Shopping Centre
Westwood Cross shopping centre opened in 2006, and contains a variety of highstreet shops such as WHSmith, M&S and Debenhams, a Travelodge Hotel (Travelodge Margate-Westwood), Vue Cinema and Restaurants (ASK, Frankie and Benny's and Nando's) and casino. If travelling to Westwood Cross by train, alight at Ramsgate and get the Loop bus (Margate-Bound) from outside the station entrance.
