We stayed at Blue Margouillat for 3 nights and were treated to great sunset views from our room and the hotel pool.

All the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

We ate at the hotel restaurant and had the seven course fish and seafood tasting menu, which was probably the best meal we had on Reunion.

Breakfast too is an event, the waiters laying out an elaborate table of anything you fancy.

Would recommend to anyone, truly excellent.

Nice setting, great view, small room with tiny storage space, food is good although quite pretentious. General staff attitude is a bit haughty. Overall we found the ratio quality versus price to be off balance.

After a Round-trip, the Blue Margouillat was our choice for having some relaxing days. In our view, the choice was excellent.

Good restaurant and very helpful and charming stuff make the stay really enjoyable.

The room and the pool are very clean. The way into the 'city center' of St. Leu takes 25 minutes by feet.

The hotel itself is located half the way up to the hill.

All in all the stay was beautiful. We would come again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and ate dinner in the restaurant on 2 nights and had lunch on 1 day. The room was excellent, with beautiful touches - murals, quality products, bath with a view and quality bedding/towels/robes. All rooms have a sea view, a comfortable balcony to catch cooling breezes and the sound of waves and birds is heavenly. The pool was stunning and gardens luxurious. The food was creative, with fabulous local ingredients and many specials each day. We felt spoilt for choice. The wine list was superb, incl. both french and a small international selection. The service from daily room cleaning to restaurant staff and reception was excellent and catered well to english speakers. Would recommend visitors hire a car as it is a steep up hill 30 min walk from the local town in the heat. Could not recommend this enough - wish I lived at this gorgeous property. a must to visit.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel is about quiet relaxation and unobtrusive service. All meals are served outside, which is lovely, although sparrows at breakfast are rather pushy. The rooms are comfortable and with good air-conditioning. I do think that the nasty cheap-looking sun white hats provided lower the tone and look like something from a supermarket deli counter; not necessary, or provide something more natural looking. The fruit brought out in the afternoons to those sitting round the pool is most welcome and refreshing and the short menu available at that time is also good. I was disappointed in the dinner, which is meant to be the best food on the island. It was good but not amazing and I expected more. The thing that will stay with me most, apart from the sunsets, is the quality of the service and the peace and quiet.
