As a start, and something which the resort and reviews do not point out: We booked this resort based on the reviews, thinking that it is slightly overpriced for our 3-day stay, but worthwhile the price given the idyllic location, amazing and varied wildlife and the miles of pristine beaches. However, when we arrived we were advised that everything from alcohol, to breakfast, lunch, and our 5 course dinner, was included in the price! All mini bar items were also included!

The hotel overlooks the grounds, which are filled to the brim with exotic antelope, giraffes and rhinos, and abuts the most beautiful and biggest beach which spreads out for miles around the resort. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with a great balcony overlooking these views, along with a splash pool to relax and cool down in.
The room is very spacious, with a dressing room, study, main bedroom with four post king size bed, huge bathroom and massive balcony! The bathroom specifically was amazing, with views overlooking the ocean and jacuzzi setting! The bathroom also had a double headed shower!
The staff, meals and events were the real highlight- the staff were very attentive and welcoming, waiting on us hand and foot. Every evening we would have a 5-course meal with fresh, local produce and a selection of exotic and less exotic meats, all as part of the price of the hotel!
Every morning, we would be asked whether we would like to go on safari or to the beach. The safaris go in the morning and late afternoon and was very interesting and informative, with sundowners and snacks included!
The beach trip was equally spectacular -we were presented with a spread of food during the course of the day as a picnic under a canopy of trees, with monkeys playing above our heads.

This place was really a bit of heaven on Earth, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of safari and beach in one place, couples, and they happen to also do amazing beach weddings.

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful lodge with awe inspiring views, great food , lovely rooms and delightful staff . Thank you Zanele , Anele, Leigh,Natasha and especially Trevor who made a special trip to find something I left on that vast and beautiful beach . The food was really inventive .. and delicious thanks to Jeff the chef and his senior colleague Ashley .
We could see lots of plains game from our room and from the main lodge and our walks on that amazing beach will stay with us for ever . One little request though .. please ditch the plastic straws and protect your amazing ocean .

The boutique property is one of very few upmarket wildlife and beach lodges / hotels in South Africa. It is located about 1.5 hours from Port Elizabeth. The drive to the resort is very pleasant. The resort is apparently owned by an American and features artists local and international artists. The decor is "tourist African". While the very spacious rooms are luxurious (2 bathrooms), the decor overall is perhaps a bit tired and in need of modernisation. The food was good and the activities were ideal for the specific resort. The staff were friendly and attentive. Well worth another visit.

Room Tip: individual cottages with outstanding views
