its hard to climb but once at the top there is a fantastic view and its worth it and on the way down its not hard at all and you get to see all the beautiful nature you might have missed on the way up.

As others have said, the walk up is along a steep clay road that would be tricky in the rain. It wasn't a particularly lovely walk, but it was good exercise and nice to get up to a viewpoint. I recommend stopping in at the Green Hermit's souvenir shop at the otherwise deserted top. He will give you helpful, reliable directions for how to make your way back down through the forest. The hike up along the road is worth it for the beautiful (and still free) hike back down on the trails. The trail down eventually intersects with the trails at the El Establo Hotel and others. The round trip took us just under 4 hours and was around 6.5-7 miles. I would not recommend taking kids. It is slippery and with sharp drop offs in a number of places. You will want boots and should take enough water, etc to manage if you take a longer route than you expect.

Great hike. Quite the climb into the clouds. Road a bit slick in spots. Got periodic views looking down into the valley.

Not a place to hike if raining. A good vertical workout requiring good hiking boots. Beautiful view from the top. Black bumblebees nesting about two thirds of the way up that have vicious sting we hear. Yhere are better things to do in this area. I would not recommend.
