Came in early on a Saturday night with a large group so we all booked a set 3 course menu in advance. Less usual was the requirement to pay a very significant deposit in advance... perhaps too many bad experiences with folks making a reservation and then not showing up?
The chef came to greet us at the door with a firm welcoming handshake.
Two little tasters and tasty hot bread served with good butter and some olive oil got us off to a good start.
The real starter, thinly sliced tuna "carpaccio" with a small bland salad in the corner of the plate, had too little taste and had so little lime and chives sauce on top that folks felt compelled to add generous helpings of the olive oil served with the bread.
The main dish was a lot better. A nice selection of freshly cooked vegetables accompanied a fillet of sea bass on a green peas based emulsion/sauce. Again, the fish could have been tastier but all in all a nice combo.
My table fellows were most lyrical about the variety of desserts that ended the meal before a little orange liquor on the house.
Very attentive and professional service by friendly staff.
The downside? 3 full hours for 3 dishes that were all the same for the entire party is a lot, even when the house is full. And in particular when starter and dessert required very limited on the spot preparation ...
