“Perfect base for exploring Veneto”
Reviewed 5 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

This charming little village is an ideal place to stay to get away from the crowds of tourists visiting Venice. Arrigo was very helpful, he gave us lots of tips on day trips in the area. We had lunch at his wife's osteria, the food was delicious. Can highly recommend

“Inspiring Location!”
Reviewed 9 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Beautiful apartment up to 4 persons in a gorgeous litte village in the Euganei Hills south of Padua. A feeling of medieval times in a stone-walled, well preserved house.
Great owner with super hints for local tours in the area including Venice and Vicenza! His Osteria with fine local dishes is very close. Little garden outside with a table and chairs to enjoy the Italian sun. House of Francesco Petrarca within walking distance. Highly enjoyable!

“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 16 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed at Casa zorzi for 6 nights from the 3rd of October to the 8th October 2015. On the day of our arrival we were able to text Arrigo ( the owner of the apartment) and he met us at his wife's restaurant which is within easy walking distance of the apartment. Arrigo speaks very good English and he is a gentleman who is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable regarding places to see in Venice and the area surrounding Arqua Petrarca.
We were given refreshments in the restaurant and then shown the apartment.
The apartment was delightful and of course very Italian which is just what you want while visiting Italy. Everything was provided including a bottle of wine and cookies. The apartment was clean and very comfortable and within a short time we felt right at home. There is a seating area right outside the door where we often enjoyed a glass of wine and there is a picturesque enclosed and secured courtyard where you can also sit. We had a beautiful view of the village including the church where the bells rang often and delighted us each time. They ring at 7.00am and were a serene alarm clock!
Arqua Petrarca is a medieval village built on a hill and it was a pleasure to visit. On our first day there was a yearly festival being held and we were enthralled with the flag wavers who juggled and threw large flags.
Arrigo was extremely helpful for our entire stay and he provided written and verbal directions and advice for Venice, Padova and other nearby towns. He even recommended the best place to buy a cappuccino in Venice and he was right, it was delicious.
Taking the train to Venice is quite easy and the station is a short drive from Arqua Petrarca but be advised parking at the station is limited and we were lucky to get a spot.
Arqua Petrarca is a beautiful medieval village but everything you want is there including restaurants, limited banking and small stores. For your main shopping you should probably drive to Monselice, but remember the village is built on a hill and the roads are narrow and steep. Arrigo provided us with a parking permit and we were able to park in a small lot a short but steep walk from the apartment.
All in all Casa zorzi is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it and the surrounding area for a fantastic vacation.

“An great introduction to Italy”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had read the reviews and felt that staying in Arqua Petrarca would be a great way to visit Venice and the surrounding areas in the Eugean Hills. The accommodation was wonderful and Arrigo lived up to his reputation for giving us great directions and recommendations and being a superb host. We ran into trouble with the road tolls and when we explained it to Arrigo he knew who to talk to in Padua and took care of things for us.
We used the train for Venice, but the rest of the time used the car to visit the incredible hillside villages and had a wonderful experience. If Arrigo recommends you visit--do it--even if it means you might get lost in the maze of a garden somewhere. What fun!

“Memorable, hopefully more than once-in-a-lifetime”
Reviewed 22 May 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Our original plan was to visit in March of '14, but my dad became terminally ill and we had to postpone the trip. Arrigo was so gracious in cancelling our reservation without penalty during such a stressful time. We didn't forget the kindness and rebooked without thought when we finally took the trip in March of '15.

His communication was excellent...we exchanged mobile numbers and sent an SMS when we were arriving. We described our rental car and he met us in the town centre in the rain. This was more than courteous -- it was almost necessary to navigate the narrow roadway up to the apartment, and to know where we could park a few minutes to unload. I was happy with the huge free, safe parking lot at the top of the hill.

The apartment was perfect for the four of us. Charming yet modern and clean. We were able to buy breakfast makings at the market and prepare them in the kitchen, and do some light laundry. The only issue was the toilet doesn't have the powerful flushing action I'm used to, but once you understand not to overload it, you'll be fine.

Arrigo sent us well crafted emails that made our day trip into Venice fruitful. He also had additional guidebooks available, and pointed us to a nearby garden with labyrinth our boys enjoyed. The apartment is only a short drive to the train station with another large car park, and easy access to the nearby cities. (We also toured Verona and Padua). The three nights went fast, I only wish we could have spent more time talking to our gracious host.
