“Lovely Weekend at York House”

We arrived at York House early evening after a long drive from London. It was warm and welcoming and immediately relaxing. We were a party of 5 including an 11 and 2 year old, a cot was all made up for my daughter which was perfect. The views from the house are stunning and it was lovely to be able to sit and look out at so many things. We really enjoyed visiting Whitby and had some delicious fish and chips! There was a children's play centre just a short walk from the house which both of my children loved! Vanessa has thought of everything to make York House homely, we will definitely be returning.

“Perfect location”
Reviewed 6 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

York House is in a brilliant location in a lovely little village of Ruswarp, the house is everything and more, on arrival the house was lovely and warm and clean,we were a party of eight adults which the house accommodated beautifully, the view over the viaduct are amazing and over the weekend kept seeing the steam train passing by.

We went to the local pub called the Bridge Inn which had a very friendly young lady working who gave us the times of the trains and ordered us a taxi.

Even the Taxi driver( £6 into Whitby ) was very friendly, A bonus to weekend was Steam Punk which was amazing seeing all ages dressed in rather flamboyant clothes very interesting and really nice friendly people.

We also got the train into Whitby a couple of times The train station from the house is a good 10 minutes but a lovely walk so not a problem. Only one thing I would say is the path leading up to the house is a bit rickety and was dark at night the light near gate didn't shine all way up the path we were fine but for older people might be a problem other that that was brilliant and hope to return.

everything you could need, very clean and comfy beds. train station just round the corner and only £2.50 return to Whitby, saves trying to find a parking space.
